Welcome to The Blank Canvas Studio
The Blank Canvas Studio is the creative workshop of Maine artist Thomas Block. Situated on the banks of the Damariscotta River in Walpole Maine, The Blank Canvas Studio provides a variety of, media, visual concepts and services.
Having been an art educator in mid coast Maine public schools for 37 years Thomas Block is well versed in using many different art mediums. This background has also led to the ability to adapt different styles to different situations and a unique approach to solving visual problems found no where else.
While the Blank Canvas Studio is most noted for illustrative work for a variety of books, articles and other publications, Block also creates fine art paintings, drawings and other media images that are shown in individual venues and galleries. The Blank Canvas Studio also offers artist in residence programs for schools as well as individual workshops, classes and private instruction by a certified Maine art educator.
